Mission Brief

Hi, I’m River Dowdy, a Stanford freshman who loves diving deep into how things work, and then how to make them work better.

I’m passionate about pretty much anything engineering! I love exploring everything from IC design to beamforming radar, with my current obsession (at the time of writing) being neuromorphic computing!

When I’m not locked in on schoolwork, you’ll often find me working on my (sadly still unfinished) Redstone computer and other fun projects, reading peak, climbing, playing racing games and Diep.io, or trying my hardest to improv music.

Design and create things never seen before
Solve AGI in an afternoon
Prove the Riemann Hypothesis with the AGI in order to fund my startup"(no better way to make a million with AGI trust me)"
Use Busy Beaver Σ(7919) to prove Goldbach's Conjecture, then realize that the number is so large the proof won’t fit in the observable universe and spend the weekend inventing "compressed proofs."
Finally finish the Redstone computer on a realm, only to to try and mine Bitcoin and then realize that Microsoft has banned my account for "crypto farming using their server resources"

MC-RED

REDSTONE COMPUTING ENGINE

A fully functional computer built entirely within Minecraft using redstone circuits and logic gates. Currently implementing an ALU and memory management system.

PCB & x∗

MAGNETORQUER OPTIMIZATION TOOL

Python tool for calculating the optimal trace width to maximize magnetic moment for PCB magnetorquer coils with various copper weights. Considers constraints like trace width, spacing, current density, and power limitations.

RF & EDGE AI

PROJECT SENTINAL ORIGINALLY PROJECT THEIA

RF-based human pose estimation system now based a custom MIMO array, custom PCBs, and custom NNW. Can find human poses through walls. Started as Project Theia winning TreeHacks 2025 OpenAI Prize winner.

SPYWARE

INFINITERECON

Real-time audio surveillance and analytics system using ESP32-S3, enabling speech-to-text, speaker identification, and SMS notifications via cloud-based AI with web dashboard for system management.

ACTIVE AERO

GYRO WING

Actively-controlled aerodynamic wing system for motorcycles using embedded systems (ESP32, Raspberry Pi). Features mechanical modeling, aerodynamic simulations, and hardware/software integration with Fusion 360, Python, and C++.
